Judging ourselves by others is a good way to drive ourselves insane and burn out. These are wonderful suggestions to avoid burnout, especially your suggestion to laugh and laugh often. A healthy sense of humor is vital for happy parenting! :-)

I appreciate your advice about taking time for ourselves. I have been homeschooling 15 years and burnout can happen at any time. For me it happens when I under plan our school months and life gets crazy ( like sick kids or surgeries or new babies). I begin to judge myself by what others are doing, rather than embracing the beauty of the freedom that homeschooling allows.
The best defense against burnout:
Rest in The Lord
Plan ahead of today's school time
Have fun learning with the kids
Fully embrace the season of life
Laugh and laugh often

I hadn't heard of this book yet, but it looks like something every homeschool mom would benefit from looking at fairly often! Thanks for sharing this at Mommynificent.com’s Booknificent Thursday! Always enjoy your contributions!
