In WA, the intent to homeschool needs to be filed at 8 years old. Here’s a link to WA State Homeschool Laws. And here’s an article explaining testing and compliance in WA. Personally, I file my intent to homeschool in the fall, before September 15th, and do the standardized testing in the spring.

And I’m sorry, I don’t remember how many questions are on the tests. Each test had a slightly different number of questions.

I live in WA and was told that I didn’t need to file an ‘intent to homeschool’ until my daughter was in the third grade. Was this true for you as well? Also, I wasn’t informed at the time I called our local school district of testing requirements, or when they should be completed. She will be entering the second grade this upcoming school year and I would like be prepared as much as possible. Lastly, how many questions are on the tests?
