31 Days to a Well-Run Homeschool

Have you ever wondered why some families tend to have a well-run homeschool routine that flows smoothly? An organized homeschool?

Plus dinner makes it onto the table every evening without fail.

And while the house wouldn’t pass a white-glove inspection, their home clean, tidy, and comfortable.

31 Days to a Well-Run Homeschool

Unfortunately, a well-run homeschool takes planning.

You need to carefully organize and plan your homeschool to cover your weak areas.

For instance, I’m horrible at remembering to pick up science supplies during my weekly grocery runs.

We didn’t do science experiments for months on end because I kept forgetting.

Finally, I started picking up the science kits. What a difference it made!

We now had the supplies on hand to complete most of the experiments. The kids were happy and I no longer felt guilty.

But that’s what I’m talking about.

My weak point is picking up experiments and supplies.

So I intentionally pick up kits or stock up on supplies during a summer school shopping spree. And now we consistently do science experiments!

You also need to consider what are your weak points, the points that prevent you from having a well-run homeschool.

Fix those and life will be so much easier!

31 Days to an Organized Homeschool

A well-run and organized homeschool is one that has a good balance between the homeschool and the house.

Dinner makes it onto the table every night.

The house may not pass a white-glove inspection, but it’s reasonably clean and tidy.

Homeschooling happens routinely with diligence. You know what you’re going to do and do it.

There’s a plan for those chaotic days when nothing seems to go right.

A well-run homeschool doesn’t just happen. It takes planning and thought.

So over the next 31 days, we’re going to talk about the various elements that go into a well-run homeschool.

You too can pull together a well-run homeschool.

One that doesn’t falter to a stop the moment something goes wrong.

We’ll discuss helpful homeschool organization hacks.

These include setting up the homeschool so you can run your school easily when everything is going crazy around you.

You need time to review the year, the quarter, the week, and the day.

It sounds like a lot, but a few minutes here and there makes a world of difference in the long run.

We’ll chat about how to choose the curriculum and what to look for.

I’ll discuss what I, as a long-term homeschooler with over 15 years of experience, look for, and why.

Homeschooling also includes actually sitting down to teach the children.

Not only do we need to teach the individual subjects, but we also need to teach the children to learn.

We need to manage the sibling squabbles that routinely pop up.

I don’t know about your kids, but mine routinely argue about who gets which spot at the table.

Apparently, some seats are better than others. Go figure!

At the same time, a well-run and organized homeschool requires that we stay on top of the household.

  • Laundry needs to be done.
  • The house needs to be clean.
  • We need a plan for getting meals onto the table every night.

An organized household is just as important as a well-run homeschool. No one can learn well in a mess.

We certainly can’t teach if we can’t even find the books!

Finally, we’ll discuss tying everything together into a well-running routine.

A routine that balances the needs of the kids, your husband, the house, the homeschool, and of course yourself.

A well-run homeschool takes a bit of organization and planning.

But with a few homeschool organization hacks, it’s within the reach of everyone.
